YES, I VOLUNTEER

Yes, I want to help Carmichael Canine Corral continue to exist, to flourish, and to improve. My dogs and I like to come to the park, and look forward to the day when there will be adequate shade, drainage, and fresh water to drink and play in. Yes, I don't have deep pockets, but I do have some time to donate to keep the park going. Yes. I want to help Carmichael Canine Corral continue. To be sure my voice is heard, I want to volunteer: Contact Tom Mock, 487-3806 or click on red for email Tom Mock

Lost Dog needs Help

Saul Kemble found a cute small pup, likely a Brazilian terrier, in Carmichael near Walnut and Glancy, who needs his family, or a NEW family. Saul has posted information on craiglist: Small Dog Found

Email puppix@pacbell.net for further info and how to contact Saul.

Elections are held in March. First, we need some volunteers to assist the NOMINATING Committee, currently Ellen Atwood, Chair, and Jeni Vogt. Up to 3 additional volunteers are welcome to evaluate submissions for officers. To apply, drop an email to puppix@pacbell.net with the Subject line: Nominating committee.

Next, staring Feb 1, a NEW page will appear that will hold the submissions of people who want to run for office. What should the submissions include? Who you are, how long you have been a dues-payig member, your community affiliation, why you think your contributions will help the dog park, why you believe dog parks are a good idea, and any other information you think helpful for people to want to vote for you.
We will open a Q&A so members can communicate with the candidates.

The offices to be filled include: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and five Directors. The directors are comprised of these: Facilities/Operations, Revenue Development (Fundraising), Community Outreach, Communications, Membership. Additional directors can serve at the discretion of the board. All positions require a 1-year term, from election day in March until the following year.

Prepare your position statement and why you want to run for office. Submit to the Nominating committee. Once approved, the nominees will appear on the Election web page.

Licensing, spaying, neutering

Dogs visiting Carmichael Canine Corral dog park are required to be licensed with appropriate immunizations up to date. These rules are for human and animal health and safety. Sacramento County licensing fees are $15 per year for neutered or spayed animals, and $150 per year for animals that are not neutered or spayed. Breeders and show dogs can gain exemptions from the higher fees under special conditions as set forth: Sacramento County Animal Control. The county is currently running an amnesty program, waiving the LATE licensing fees through October 31. Low cost spaying and neutering is available through the county. Rabies vaccinations are required. They normally last 3 years. Other immunizations are recommended, not just for your own dog's health, but for the health of those she comes in contact with at the park. There are various low-cost vaccine programs throughout the county, so check with the above link to see when the next available one is in your area. Please note that you cannot get vaccines alone through the spay/neuter program. But you can get a fabulous bargain through the county where for the cost of a license you can get your animal spayed and neutered, have a rabies vaccine and get a year's license.
