Also noted recently at the dog park: Discarded wrappers for Nicorette. We applaud those who are trying to quit smoking. However, these wrappers are a dire hazard, just as bad, if not worse than cigarettes, to dogs. They are part sharp plastic, part metallic paper, and contain traces of nicotine -- enough to kill a pup or small dog. PLEASE discard ALL your trash in the provided containers and not on the ground.
Facilities Director Debbie Richey reminds smokers that cigarette butts are toxic to dogs. They can make dogs seriously ill, even be fatal. Think your dog does not eat stuff? Check out this random snapshot. PLEASE protect all dogs by putting your used butts in the provided trash containers.
There are reports floating about the internet about a dog eating decomposed granite and becoming ill. Vets respond that dogs also eat pea gravel, twigs, and other indigestible objects naturally found lying around.

Yes, I want to help Carmichael Canine Corral continue to exist, to flourish, and to improve. My dogs and I like to come to the park, and look forward to the day when there will be adequate shade, drainage, and fresh water to drink and play in. Yes, I don't have deep pockets, but I do have some time to donate to keep the park going. Yes. I want to help Carmichael Canine Corral continue. To be sure my voice is heard, I want to volunteer: Contact Tom Mock, 487-3806 or click on red for email Tom Mock
